General Questions

01

Is this insurance?

+

No. Crowd Dental is a membership-based community fund. We coordinate support through clear guidelines and human review. Crowd Dental is not insurance.

02

What do I get with membership?

+

Membership gives you access to our process, guidelines, and the ability to submit requests for review and potential community support. It also includes member support and access to participating network dentists.

03

How do I request support?

+

Visit a network dentist for diagnosis and an itemized treatment plan/estimate, then submit your plan through the member portal. We review eligibility and, when eligible and funds are available, open/allocate a fundraising window before major non-emergency treatment is scheduled.

04

How long does review take?

+

Most complete submissions are reviewed within 3–5 business days. Complex requests may take longer depending on documentation, treatment complexity, and available funds.

05

When do I schedule treatment?

+

For major non-emergency care, schedule treatment after approval and funding are confirmed. If your provider needs a tentative date, you can reserve one and confirm once funding is ready.

06

How does payment work at the dental office?

+

When funding is confirmed and you’re ready to proceed, you pay your first $300 at checkout and present your Crowd Dental member card. Crowd Dental transfers the approved eligible amount directly to the dental office so the receptionist can process the remaining eligible balance.

07

What if my request isn’t eligible?

+

If a request isn’t eligible, we’ll explain why and what can be improved. Some requests are not eligible due to the 6-month major treatment policy, missing documentation, or guidelines. If a request is eligible but funding isn’t ready, we may keep it open for additional fundraising, suggest phased options, or guide you on what to submit to strengthen the request. Support depends on community participation, available funds, membership standing, and contribution history.

08

Can I cancel anytime?

+

Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Your membership remains active through the end of your current billing period, and no further charges occur after that date. Eligibility to submit requests and participate in support requires an active membership in good standing at the time of submission and when funds are applied.
