Guidelines for Eligibility and Review

We built Crowd Dental on transparency. Our community model relies on clear steps and mutual responsibility. The following guidelines explain how we review requests for support and what members can expect throughout the process.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria

Community support focuses on necessary preventive and restorative care. Commonly eligible needs include cleanings, check-ups, and restorative services. Cosmetic-only procedures, unverifiable costs, or undocumented add-ons are typically not eligible as they fall outside the community fund guidelines.

Requirements

Documentation Requirements

To process any request, we require an itemized estimate or invoice. These documents must clearly state the services provided and the final cost. Accurate documentation allows the community to review needs fairly and ensures funds are applied to eligible health concerns according to our standards.

Process

The Review Process

Requests are reviewed before major non-emergency treatment begins. Members submit an itemized treatment plan/estimate and required documentation through the member portal. We review eligibility using published guidelines and, when eligible and funds are available, open/allocate a community fundraising window. Funding and approval should be confirmed before scheduling major non-emergency work.

Disclaimer

Fund Availability & Disclaimers

Crowd Dental is a community fund, not insurance. While we aim to support all eligible needs, assistance depends on available funds and consistent adherence to guidelines. There is no guarantee of support for any specific request, as we function through shared responsibility rather than a traditional policy.
